You should use a brand new AA battery in your Time Timer. Please also ensure the battery is seated correctly with the negative side (flat) of the battery inserted first (see picture).

If you are not familiar with using a Time Timer, the movement of the red disk may not be immediately apparent. If you are a new user, set your timer for 20-40 minutes and walk away for at least that amount of time. If the disk is completely gone when you return, your timer is working properly.

If you are using a 3" Personal Time Timer, please note that the red disk does not move when the cover is shut. Please ensure the front cover is open before trying to use this model. |
If you are using an 8" or 12" Time Timer, look to the center of the timer. You should see a brass CAP NUT there (see picture - looks like a small cap). If it is there, ensure that it is tight. Simply tighten with your fingers until it stops.
If you are using an 3" Time Timer, look to the center of the timer. You should see a brass THRU NUT there (see picture - looks like a small ring). If it is there, ensure that it is tight. Simply tighten with your fingers until it stops.
If you are missing your CAP NUT or THRU NUT fill out the form below and one will be sent to you free of charge. Provide your full name and mailing address to ensure you request is processed. Please allow up to eight business days for arrival in the USA, longer for international requests.

The plastic "bump" on the edge of the red disk is held to the disk with adhesive. Sometimes this "bump" can move and restrict the movement of the disk in certain locations. If this happens simply peel it off and re-apply it in a position where this does not occur (see picture).
Sometimes debris can get into your Time Timer and restrict the movement of the disk. View the movie below to see the procedure for clearing out any debris on the disk or timer shaft.
