Time Timer's Hot Summer: Rocco's Dinner Party, the Washington Post and a Funky Monkey!
2011 was a HOT and colorful summer for Time Timer Fans!
Thanks to tips from our Facebook Fans, we discovered Time Timers were featured on TV, in a newspaper (kids: that's like cnn.com printed on paper) and on a monkey!
TV: Time Timer on Rocco's Dinner Party
In June, celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito launched a new competitive cooking show. Each week, 3 chefs shared their masterpieces, competing to plan and cater a dinner party for Rocco's famous friends [including Broadway legend Liza Minnelli, New York Times food critic Amanda Hesser, and food(ography) host / NPR correspondent Mo Rocca].
Big thanks to our Facebook crew, who spotted Time Timers in Rocco's "Signature Dish on a Time Crunch" challenge. Rocco gave his 3 chefs only 30 minutes to prepare their best dish while a 12-inch Time Timer counted down their time.
Watch the Time Crunch challenge here and try it at home!
News: Time Timer in The Washington Post
Now this was cool. Washington Post writer Jura Koncius featured Time Timers in her August 2011 piece "Gear Up For School with a Little Organization 101." Koncius said: "The 3-inch square Time Timer... literally shows the passage of time. It helps students use precious hours more wisely, focus longer and be more productive."
On YouTube: Color-Coded and Not Just Cute
Time Timers guest-starred in two video blogs this summer – first the 8-inch Timer on "Not Just Cute" (an adorable blog devoted to innovative childhood development).
Then, the 12-inch Timer appeared in "30-Minute Daily Organizing" by Color-Coded Professional Organizer Alejandra Costello. Add Time Timer as a Friend on YouTube to see more!
And a monkey?
Congratulations to "Tannawings" who won a 3-inch Timer from The Funky Monkey Blog!

Jeff Copper's Attention Talk Radio ~ Time Timer episode airs April 15!
Tune in to www.attentiontalkradio on April 15 2011 at 2pm ET, and you’ll hear Time Timer President Jan Rogers talking about the vital role of her invention in time management for ADHD adults and children.

“We invented the Time Timer in response to ‘attention’ issues,” Rogers explains. “And we’re committed to sharing our experiences and learnings over the past 20 years with the special needs community. Attention Talk Radio provides a unique opportunity to engage with a wide audience of people who buy and use our Timers successfully.”
Attention Talk Radio, hosted by attention coach Jeff Copper, is a narrowcast Internet-based radio show that provides targeted and insightful information to those with or impacted by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
“The show is centered around paying attention to attention,” Copper explains. “In my experience as an attention coach, I’ve learned that, when the obvious solution isn’t working, there is a good chance the issue is, you are paying attention to the wrong thing. On Attention Talk Radio, we try to help those with ADHD get unstuck and move them forward by helping them pay attention to things differently. Our interview with Jan Rogers about Time Timer is a perfect fit for our show because Time Timer pays attention to time in a different way!”

Throughout the year, Attention Talk Radio brings renowned experts and thoughtful leaders on attention disorder issues. For example, Dr. Russ Ramsay recently joined Jeff to review the history of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). In addition, Dr. Russell Barkley was on the show talking about the impact ADHD has on emotion. You can hear this and other selected past shows on demand at www.attentiontalkradio.com.
Host Jeff Copper is an attention coach and founder of DIG Coaching Practice. He specializes in coaching adults with or impacted by ADHD. As an attention coach, Jeff helps others to realize their own potential by helping them to overcome information overload, chronic disorganization, ADHD and ADD disorder symptoms, time management problems, attention deficit disorder impulsivity, and other conditions that may hinder personal advancement.
You can listen to and participate in the show live by calling 646-652-4409 or listening to it off the Attention Talk Radio home page at www.attentiontalkradio.com. If you miss an episode, you can access it via the show archives by either going to www.attentiontalkradio.com or searching for Attention Talk Radio in iTunes, looking for it under podcasts and clicking on the show you want to listen to.
Time Timer on Nate Berkus Show
Time Timer featured on the Nate (Berkus) Show, PeaceOfMindOrganization.com and Time Makeover!
Why Time Timer is “all the rage” among professional organizers.
Time Timer conversations have been popping up throughout the past year on home improvement TV shows and organization magazines and websites.

The most recent one occurred on the wildly popular Nate (Berkus) Show in a segment called Five Cures for Clutter. His guest was organization expert Geralin Thomas, an avowed advocate of time management in organization tasks. Her recommendation:
"If you can only use one tool to get organized, the most helpful thing is to use a timer. I like a product called the Time Timer. It's especially effective for someone who is easily distracted or is a procrastinator. The thing about it is, there's a big red disc that shows how much time is elapsing. The beauty of that is... if you have children who want to pitch in to help you organize, they don't have to be able to tell time. So they can be part of the process."

On the website PeaceofMindOrganizing.com...
Janine Adams credits Thomas with suggesting she use the Time Timer to be more efficient in assessing client organization needs. Her story:
"Anyway, my friend Geralin Thomas, organizer extraordinaire, recommended I buy the Time Timer and take it with me on assessments, because my assessments tend to be quite long (4+ hours). This way, I can keep track of time and since I'm holding the 3-inch timer in my hand, the client can see too. (I explain about the timer when I start.)
I also use it in my home to keep me on task. I've long used the count-down timer on my digital watch when I'm trying to take care of tasks or projects. But being able to glance at the Time Timer and see how much time I have left is very helpful
One of my clients has purchased a Time Timer and found it really helpful as well. She's easily distracted and this timer has done a great job of keeping her on task.
If you have trouble with the concept of time and could use a little "tangible time management" check it out."
And finally, TV show host and Certified Professional Organizer Scott Roewer...
"I love the Time Timer. I actually used the Timer on Season 1 of FineLiving's TV Show, Time Makeover. I recommend the [model] with the audible ding when time has run out."

Roewer, based in Washington DC, is a former winner of the Professional Organizer of the Year award, which is presented annually by the National Association of Professional Organizers. He was praised in the Washington Post for the closet organization project pictured here.

His client, high school freshman Maureen Zimmerman, memorialized Scott with this unforgettable tribute: "Now, my stuff will be easier to find."
Scott also has a unique expertise as a Chronic Disorganization Specialist, working with people who are compulsive hoarders.
